Overview: Pro Christmas RGBW C9 Bulbs and Stringer Sets
The Pro Christmas RGBW C9 bulbs and stringer sets are a fantastic way to light up your holiday season with vibrant and colorful displays. However, understanding their features and limitations is key to getting the most out of these professional-grade lighting options. Here’s a friendly breakdown of what you need to know.
Overview: Pro Christmas RGBW
- Remote Control Operation: These lights are controlled by a convenient remote control, making it easy to switch between modes and colors.
-
Limitations:
- The lights are not mappable or addressable, meaning you cannot customize the display on a bulb-by-bulb basis. They also aren’t designed for use with DMX/Artnet or other control software.
- They are not compatible with controllers from other brands, even if the plugs fit.
- Using these controllers on non-RGBW stringer sets or bulbs unfortunately will not turn them into color-changing lights or programmable lights.
- Patterns and colors cannot be customized beyond the presets.
Lets go over some major differences between the two product lines: RGBW 5MM Stringer Sets and RGBW C9 Bulbs.

Controller and Power Considerations:
- These C9 bulbs do not come with a controller or C9 Empty Socket Light Line. Empty Socket Line and Controller are sold separately.
- The controller comes in two pieces. The controller and an “RY to female plug” converter. Since the controller has a male Edison (2 prong plug) and a female RY, the converter goes between the controller and the start of your light run.
- A single controller can power and control up to 100 bulbs.
- Avoid doubling up on outlets or daisy chaining, even if the power amperage calculations suggest it’s feasible. The limit is determined by the data the controller is able to push to the very last bulb on the line. Going over this limit will cause flickering and other issues.
- Do not cut the line of data. When running these bulbs, you want to make sure that you have a continuous line. Adding inline female plugs will disrupt the flow of data causing the lights to flicker and not respond.
- Adding non-RGBW bulbs on the line with the RGBW bulbs will also disrupt the flow of data to the bulbs from the controller.
-
Setup Requirements:
- The maximum combined length of zip cord and socket line is 250 feet.
- If you use zip cord, it will need to be added before the controller as not to disrupt the flow of data.
- An empty socket C9 light line is required for installation.
- A Controller is required for the bulbs to work.
- The maximum combined length of zip cord and socket line is 250 feet.
-
Display Features:
- The bulbs will randomly assign a color to each bulb depending on the effect selected.
- (Keep in mind this is not a smart controller so it does not know where each bulb is located so you could have multiple bulbs in a row with the same color)
- Dual toned colors from multiple active diodes have a unique effect on the Opal, Berry, Harvest, and Aqua colors.
- Three control channels are available, allowing you to separately manage different devices. Set each controller to a specific channel to control only those within its range.
- The bulbs will randomly assign a color to each bulb depending on the effect selected.
With this overview in mind, you’ll be well on your way to creating a stunning holiday light display. Whether you choose the RGBW 5mm stringer sets or the RGBW C9 bulbs, the Pro Christmas RGBW lighting system will provide colorful, vibrant, and festive illumination for your celebrations! Are you ready to be the talk of your town?
