Light Recommendations for all Applications
Greenery (including trees):
-
5mm Wide Angle Conical are recommended for all greenery because the tiny bulbs are discrete but pack a big punch with their powerful luminescence. If they happen to be too bright for you, they can be used with a dimmer. We offer these lights with two different connection types. Standard- Edison and RY Coaxial.
- Edison plugs are the standard household electrical plug in the United States, 2-prong plugs.
- RY Coaxial plugs are made up of threaded male and female ends that are securely sealed by a coupling, with a watertight rubber washer.
- This style is preferred when lighting greenery because the plugs are more discreet and don't get disconnected as easily as the Edison plugs.
- ALL OF OUT RY COAXIAL CONNECT 5MM WIDE ANGLE CONICAL LIGHTS REQUIRE AN ADAPTER.
- This style is preferred when lighting greenery because the plugs are more discreet and don't get disconnected as easily as the Edison plugs.
Perimeter Lighting:
-
- We recommend using C9 Bulk Empty Socket Light Line with C9 Retrofit Bulbs. The empty socket light line is the most customizable lighting option as you can cut it to custom lengths and use whatever color and pattern of retrofit bulbs you desire. We recommend a larger bulb, like the C9 for perimeter lighting because they are our brightest retrofit option, and the large size can be seen from afar.
Electrical Supplies:
- 18/2 Zip Cord is used to create custom extension cords. It can be cut to the desired length and is available in multiple colors. It comes in handy when your light line doesn't reach your power source, or you just don't want to see extra lights hanging down the side of your house (a cleaner look).
-
18/2 Males and Females Vampire Plugs, sometimes called Gilbert plugs, are added to the ends of empty socket light line or zip cord so you can plug your light line into a power source.
- To see how to use our vampire plugs, watch our video here.
-
Timers are great because you don't have to worry about turning your lights on and off manually, they'll do it for you! We carry two types of timers, Photocell and Standard.
- Photocell timers are equipped with a light-gathering device that enables them to distinguish daylight from dark. This style offers multiple settings like, dusk to dawn, 2-hours, 6-hours, etc.
- Standard timers trigger on and off sequences based upon an internal clock. You'll set the time on the internal clock, and program in your on-off sequences. This is a more manual timer option because it relies on the user to program it.
Light Hanging Clips:
- Designed to hold empty socket light line, stringers, and specialty strings such as icicle lights, Christmas light clips come in many different sizes and shapes. There are a lot of options when it comes to choosing the correct light clip for your design. Read our blog article here to help choose which clip is right for your display.
